US bishops set new investment guidelines

CWN Editor's Note: The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has approved a new set of guidelines for the investment of church funds. The guidelines bar investment in corporations that are directly involved in abortion, euthanasia, human cloning, contraception, and embryonic stem-cell research. They also call for an active stockholder approach, pressing corporations to promote human rights and environmental responsibility, and to work against discrimination and hate speech.
