VOLTO SANTO
Holy face. One of several relics, honored by the faithful as bearing an imprint of the face of Christ. The most famous is Veronica's veil, or simply the Veronica. More widely publicized is the Holy Shroud, preserved at Turin since 1578, believed to be the winding sheet in which the body of Christ was wrapped after the Crucifixion (Matthew 27:59).
