REDUCTION
In ecclesiastical law, reducting the number of Masses to be said from a foundation, when the endowment no longer suffices to supply the stipends for the Masses. It is assumed that the foundation became devalueated through no fault of the administrator. Only the Holy See can authorize a reduction.
