LAVABO
The liturgical washing of his hands by a priest at Mass, after the Offertory and before the Preface in the Tridentine ritual. The sixth verse of Psalm 26 (Vulgate, Psalm 25), recited by the celebrant, begins: "I will wash my hands among the innocent."
