My book on Pope Francis—available for pre-order now!

Although I can’t claim to have predicted that criticism that has suddenly arisen around Pope Francis, I think it’s fair to say that anyone who had read my new book, The Lost Shepherd, would have been prepared.

  • Did Pope Francis overlook charges that a Chilean bishop had ignored complaints of sexual abuse? In Chapter Three, “Stalled Reforms,” I explain that—despite a series of public statements promising tough action—the Pope has actually not followed up on sex-abuse problems.
  • Is the Vatican ready to strike a deal with Beijing, at the expense of “underground” Catholics? In Chapter Six, “Allies and Enemies,” I explain why Chinese Catholics loyal to the Holy See have been worried.

And there’s much more in this book, for those who don’t want to be caught off guard by the next Vatican controversy.

Lost Shepherd is now in print (although the formal publication date is still a few weeks away), and in fact it’s been selling briskly, at a reduced price.

If you do order the book- as of course I hope you will- would you please consider leaving a comment on Amazon? That would help attract other potential readers. Thanks!
