CWN Editor's Note: The Vatican Secretariat of State has issued a message to the world’s bishops, offering context on the recent statement by Pope Francis in favor of civil unions. The Vatican message, circulated through papal nuncios, emphasizes that “Pope Francis has referred to certain state provisions, certainly not the doctrine of the Church.” The Pope’s statement did not endorse same-sex marriage, but did endorse civil unions—which previous Vatican statements had opposed.

The Pope did not "same-sex marriage, but did endorse civil unions", is an obfuscation. Civil Unions is same sex marriage. What else would it be. Sodomy in Scripture is an abomination and deserves destruction. The act itself is vile. The Pope has endorse this. Therefore he is most vile for he sits in the highest office in this world. By endorsing this he is an heretic and is leading many astray. Do not be fooled by this smoke screen. With other things he has said and done shows his true self.
