Cass Sunstein, who was recently confirmed to head the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, has argued for stronger efforts to enlarge the pool of organ donors, including policies that would require citizens to consent to organ donation in order to obtain driver's licenses. Sunstein argued that a policy of "routine removal"-- in which vital organs are taken from terminally ill patients even without their consent-- could be defended legally and morally.

Agriculturists and sportsmen tried to call attention to his radical views, but no one would listen. He would give animals more "human rights" than he admits humans deserve.

This man's views are horrible. The sanctity of the human body doesn't exist to the man. He refers to fetuses as third parties. His philosophy embraces the culture of death, not life. Committed Christians should be alarmed at the power he can exercise.

Mr. Sunstein did NOT argue for "policies that would require citizens to consent to organ donation in order to obtain driver's licenses. He argued to require that citizens make a choice about organ donation. He argued, reasonably I think, that when they must choose either to be an organ donor or to not be an organ donor, the number of willing organ donors will go up signicantly. Thereby saving lives.

Why does it seem that, if these were Republicans, we would have heard the Democrats loudly scream, but we hear nothing about these Democrats until they are already confirmed? We had all better watch how deeply we sleep for now on.
