Christians attacked in Pakistani village; no police action
January 20, 2009
Pakistan's National Commission for Justice and Peace has confirmed that Muslims attacked Christians in a village in Punjab earlier this week. The reports indicate that some Christians were tortured, a church was ransacked, and Christian homes were robbed. The violence apparently stemmed from a property dispute, and Muslim extremists used the occasion to attack the small Catholic and Protestant minority in the village. Police have made no arrests.
