Catholic Recipe: Veal Stew in Milk

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 pounds stewing veal, cut in small pieces
  • 1 wineglass white wine
  • 2 tomatoes, peeled, quartered
  • 2 pimientos, sliced
  • salt
  • milk

DIRECTIONS

Sauté onion in butter in skillet. Add meat and brown. Pour wine over meat; cook 1-2 minutes. Add tomatoes, pimientos, salt. Pour in milk to cover; reduce heat. Cover. Simmer 2 hours, adding milk if necessary. Yield, 3-4 servings
