This week Phil Lawler responded to claims that there is a conspiracy to control the Synod on the Family. See A secret plot to control the Synod? No; it's not secret at all.

For my part, I try to answer those who keep asking the Church to change its stripes when it comes to remarriage and gay marriage. See What about Catholic affirmation for those in false marriages?

Meanwhile, a number of the Synod fathers have criticized the working document for being too negative. Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia captured this problem nicely in his intervention: Marriage As a Witness to Hope.
