eNewsletter Subject: The Synod: It's a Wrap!

Since the 2014 Synod on the Family ended on Sunday, it is only right that we wrap up our coverage here. You'll find the final Synod Message here: Message of the Synod Assembly on the Pastoral Challenges to the Family in the Context of Evangelization.

Pope Francis' final address to the Synod Fathers was entitled May the Lord Accompany Us and Guide Us in this Journey. In it he points out the characteristic failings of both conservatives and liberals in the Church (for want of better terms).

Since this is so, I ask you to do me a favor. If you regard yourself as a conservative Catholic, take to heart what the Pope says about your particular temptations as much as you want liberals to take to heart what he says about theirs. And vice versa. (Don't be normal; don't see only the speck in your brother's eye.)

Unfortunately, I sent my Friday message before Phil Lawler posted What's wrong with this Synod, IV: Unprepared for marriage. It was written before the Synod closed, but I must offer it out of chronological order here....
